About the Tournament

Our Mission:
Craks, Bams, and Friends is passionate about creating welcoming Mahjong experiences that bring people together through connection, learning, and community. Our goal is to host events that feel organized, inclusive, elevated, and fun for players of all experience levels.

Tournament Overview:
This American Mahjong tournament is designed to provide players with a full-day experience featuring organized tournament play, exciting prizes, great food, and opportunities to connect with fellow Mahjong enthusiasts.
Players will compete in multiple timed rounds with rotating seating assignments throughout the day. In addition to tournament play, guests can enjoy sponsor experiences, social time, and community connections.

Who Can Participate:
This tournament is open to players who are comfortable independently playing American Mahjong. Players should have a working understanding of the current National Mah Jongg League card and general gameplay.

Event Registration:
Reserve your seat for a full-day Mahjong tournament experience hosted by Craks, Bams, and Friends.
Space is limited and registration is first come, first served.
 
Each player registration includes:

  • Tournament entry with multiple rounds

  • 1 Raffle ticket

  • Welcome gift

  • Light breakfast

  • Lunch

  • Eligibility for tournament prizes

  • Access to sponsor and vendor experiences


Tournament Format:

  • American Mahjong format

  • 1.5-hour rounds

    • Four games per round

  • Rotating seating assignments

  • Official scoring and tournament tracking
     

Schedule Overview:
Morning

  • Check-in and registration

  • Breakfast and social time

  • Welcome announcements

  • Tournament Round 1

Midday

  • Lunch break

  • Raffle Prizes

  • Tournament Round 2

Afternoon

  • Additional tournament rounds

  • Final scoring

  • Awards ceremony, prizes, final raffles


Registration Pricing: 
 
Early Bird Registration:
Available for a limited time.
 
Standard Registration:
Regular tournament pricing after early bird registration closes.

Waitlist:
Once registration is full, players may join the waitlist and will be contacted if additional seats become available. 
 
Refund Policy:

  • Full refunds available until September 1

  • 50% refunds available from September 2 through October 15

  • No refunds will be issued after October 15
     

Players should:

  • Arrive on time

  • Be familiar with American Mahjong gameplay

  • Bring their current NMJL card

  • Maintain respectful and sportsmanlike conduct throughout the event
